Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Who is the sponsor of this community center?

A. The Peoples Place has been established by the Gardner Seventh-day Adventist Church, 100 Colony Rd., Westminster, MA.

Q. Why have you established this center?

A. Due to the lack of public transportation and the rural location of our church, we felt the establishment of a downtown presence would provide us greater opportunity to be of service to the residents and community of Gardner.

Q. Will there be a charge for the services you offer?

A. Rarely. There may be an occasion when a contribution is required for a program that requires a substantial investment on our part, but this will be, by far, the exception and not the rule.

Q. How is your organization funded?

A. We are funded by our parent church and we have been blessed to be the recipients of a grant provided by the Adventist Community Services, and the Heywood Hospital. Fundraisers are planned and free will donation opportunities will be provided. Our main focus, however, is providing a service for those who might not otherwise be able to afford it..

Q. What are your hours of operation?

A.  As we are an all volunteer organization, we will be open primarily when we are conducting a scheduled program.  Eventually, as the need arises and our resources permit, we hope to maintain regular and consistent hours and staff the facility accordingly.  Event scheduling times and dates can always be accessed at the Peoples Place Calendar on the home page of this web site.   Also, the online community calendar of the Gardner News, as well as their "home" section of the printed paper, will carry our schedule.  Additionally,  programing may also be accessed on the community calendar of the City of Gardner's web site.

When we love the world as He has loved it, then for us His mission is accomplished. We are fitted for heaven; for we have heaven in our hearts.
